The Rose of Versailles

Oscar François de Jarjeyes, a youthful aristocratic woman, was raised by her father as if she were a son. Oscar serves as Marie Antoinette’s palace guard commander, which brings her into contact with the extravagance of King Louis XVI’s court at Versailles. Together with her servant André, Oscar gains access to the conniving and dishonest dealings of France’s final magnificent royal reign.
